It's hard to believe Theophilus is from the same borough as Jay-Z or the Beastie Boys or any of the big names that come to mind when you say Brooklyn, NY. Sonically, Theophilus is on an island all to his self and he'll tell you that.

His brand of music blends new wave sounds with pop and hip-hop. "Always Love U" off his most current mixtape, is a perfect example of how this hybrid of genres works well together. The up tempo beat in "Always Love U" will get your feet moving. Then an unexpected sample of Whitney Huston will catch you by surprise but, a pleasant surprise none the less. After a little research I found that London's influences stem from various sources, ( i.e. Michael Jackson, Morrisey, Prince, Lauryn Hill, Kraftwerk, James brown and Kid Cudi ) so it comes as a no-brainer to why his music offers such a wide collection of thought and emotion. Even though Theophilus has been ringing bells in the BK for the last few years, his music still is an undiscovered jewel to most national audiences. Considering the state of contemporary music today, I believe this is the best time for Theophilus to orchestrate media a push and gain the attention of young listeners ears. This Brooklynites music is fresh and fun but, don't take my word for it. Download his mixtape below and find out for your self.
